What You Can Do To Keep Your Mouth Healthy

  • Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Brushing your teeth is imperative to ensuring your teeth are not being broken down by plaque, acids from foods and more.
  • Floss! Your toothbrush doesn't always get all the nooks and crannies between your teeth. Flossing can help reduce the build-up of leftover food and plaque from between your teeth.
  • Rinse your mouth with antimicrobial mouth rinse throughout the day.
  • Eat a balanced diet. This is essential for your health and the health of your teeth. A balanced diet ensures you have the proper nutrients for your body to continue to heal all areas, including your teeth.
  • Avoid smoking or chewing tobacco. Tar and chemicals from smoking and chewing tobacco cause wear, breakdown and staining of your teeth and is genuinely bad for your overall health. Talk to Dr. Cindy C. Moore about advice on quitting if you do smoke.
  • Manage dry mouth. People who have chronic dry mouth are more prone to cavities and tooth decay.
